The first robotic surgery was performed in Armenia

The first robotic surgery was performed in Armenia. Armen Muradyan, Rector of Yerevan State Medical University, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

According to him, robotic surgery was first used at the SlavMed Medical Center, where a robotic urological surgery—a partial nephrectomy—was performed.

"I am pleased and proud that the first robotic surgery was a urological one. The operation was successful," Muradyan wrote.

The surgery was performed by urologist Mher Mkhitaryan.
